Why is this race being held?

All proceeds from this race go directly back to Bethel Lutheran School to enhance the learning experiences for all the students.  We thank you so much for your support of our students and school!

What is included with my registration fee?

All participants, regardless of race chosen, will receive a t-shirt (t-shirt guaranteed if you sign up before March 1), post-race refreshments and a coffee mug that Eli's Coffee Shop will fill with coffee or hot chocolate after the race. Your entry fee also includes one admission ticket to our annual pancake and sausage breakfast, held at the school starting at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 11:30 a.m.

Where should I park?

There is a large parking lot shared by Bethel Lutheran School and Church that should accommodate all participants.  The school address is 325 East Queenwood Road in Morton, IL.

Is there a different start time for those participating in the timed mile or fun run/walk?

All participants, regardless of the race chosen, will start at 9:00 AM.  Those in the fun run/walk are welcome to line up near the back of the pack, and those that are racing in the 5K or the timed mile should line up toward the front.

When and where is packet pick-up?

Packet pick-up will take place at Bethel Lutheran School, 325 East Queenwood Road, Morton, IL, on Friday, March 13 from 5:00-7:00 PM.  You may also pick up your packet on race day from 7:00-8:30 AM.

What awards will be handed out?

For the 5K race, prizes will be awarded to our overall male and female winners.  Medals will also be awarded to winning males and females in the following age categories: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69 and 70 & up.

For the timed mile, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals will be awarded to males and females in the following age categories: 6 & under, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-14.

We also have a special award for the fastest Bethel alum, so make sure you indicate your alumni status during registration!

How do I get a t-shirt in my preferred size?

Your t-shirt is guaranteed if you register prior to March 1, 2020.  We will have extra t-shirts at packet pick-up, but if you register after that date, availability and your preferred size are not guaranteed.

Where can I find race results?

You can find past race results by clicking HERE.   2020 results will be available on the home page of this website or on our Facebook page (search for Fired Up 5K - Bethel Lutheran School) as soon as possible following the race on March 16.

Are you going to offer any registration discounts?

School track and cross country teams are invited to enter the 5K as a team for a discounted fee.   A link will be available here ASAP to download the entry form and to read about this option.

Are strollers allowed?

Yes!  If you have a stroller, we just ask that you line up toward the back of the pack at the start so as not to be in the way of other runners.

Can I register for the race at packet pick-up or on the day of the race?

Yes!  You can register for the race at either packet pick-up time, all the way up to 8:30 AM on race day.  However, please note that a t-shirt is not guaranteed after March 1.

I don't want to pay the processing fee to register online.  Is there another option?

Yes!  If you would prefer to register via a paper form, please visit the Bethel Lutheran School office during regular office hours, or download the  paper version of the entry form HERE and drop it off at the school office.

If I'd rather not race, do you need volunteers?

Yes please!  We will need volunteers for lots of different areas.  Please CLICK HERE to send an e-mail to the race organizers.
